Initiative for Leadership Development and Change (ILDC) a Civil Society Organisation (CSO), has described the reshuffling of NNPCL board as a demonstration of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to economic reforms and excellence.

Chief Ugochukwu Nnam, President, ILDC, said this in an interview with our reporter Abuja on Thursday.

The NAN reports that President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday removed Mele Kyari and appointed Bayo Ojulari as the new Group CEO of the NNPC Ltd.

Also appointed was Ahmadu Musa Kida as Non-Executive Chairman of the NNPC Ltd.

Nnam lauded Tinubu for taking the bold step towards repositioning the oil and gas industry.

He said the reshuffling was a testament to the President’s desire to drive growth in the petroleum sector.

He described the CEO of NNPCL, Bayo Ojulari as a petroleum expert whose knowledge and experience would drive greater efficiency, transparency, and profitability for the country.

“The new board especially Bayo Ojulari and Musa Kida are all technocrats whose wealth of experience in petroleum sector is needed to reposition the sector.

“President Tinubu is his wisdom chose them relying on their experience, so I urge Nigerians to expect crash in petroleum pump price and boom in the future,” he said.

The ILDC Boss said that the new leadership of the NNPC Ltd. has the potential to fulfil the expectations of Nigerians.

According to him, we expect reforms that will boost local refining capacity, attract investment, and reduce Nigeria’s over dependence on imported petroleum products.
