Nollywood film “My Mother is a Witch” hits cinema May 23

Star-studded intriguing Nollyood film “My Mother is a Witch”, is set for premiere in cinemas on May 23, its producers have said.

It was reported that Anthill Studios, co-producer of the film, has released the trailer of the blockbuster on its Instagram page.

The highly anticipated film is produced by Anthill Studios, in collaboration with Frame Flix HQ, and it is distributed FilmOne Entertainment.

“My Mother is a Witch” is directed by ace filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan,with a stellar cast, including Efe Irele, Mercy Aigbe, Timini Egbuson, and Neo Akpofure, among others.

Set in Benin City and London, the tale of “My Mother is a Witch” follows a fractured bond between a mother and daughter set against a tapestry of memory and misunderstanding.

The story follows a fashion editor, played by Efe Irele, who returns from London to her Nigerian roots in Benin, only to face lingering childhood wounds tied to her mother, portrayed by Mercy Aigbe.

This psychological drama unravels through a slow-burn mystery, exploring how silence and unresolved pain shape identity and forgiveness across generations.
