Cross River Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Victor Idem says Gov. Bassey Otu’s administration is reinventing the developmental trajectory of the state.

The commissioner stated that Otu’s developmental strides since assumption of office on May 29, 2023, has positioned the state for greatness.

He stated this in Calabar on Tuesday while fielding questions from newsmen on the bestowing of Outstanding Leadership and Excellence Award as the best performing Commissioner in Nigeria.

It was reported that the award was bestowed on him last weekend by the Leadership and Professional Ethics Consult in Abuja.

Idem described the governor as a leader with “deep wisdom, steadfast character and unwavering resilience” to transform Cross River into a model of good governance.

According to him, “the governor’s People First Agenda is not just a mere political mantra but a statement of intent and purpose to signpost his enduring love for the people and his commitment to the revitalisation of all sectors of the state economy.”

He noted that the unprecedented infrastructural rehabilitation and construction of projects being undertaken across all the council areas remains a formidable catalyst to stimulating the state’s economy.

He further noted that the governor’s provision of security, capacity building, and job creation for the women and youths are all aimed at industrialising Cross River.

On the award, the commissioner who expressed surprise at such a nationwide recognition, attributed his diligent work ethics to the exemplary efficiency of the governor.

He dedicated the award to governor Bassey Otu and to the people of the state.
