Police arraign 4 men over alleged exam malpractice, impersonation

The Police in Lagos on Thursday, arraigned four men before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged examination malpractice and impersonation during the last JAMB exam.

The defendants are: Damilola Rufai, 27, Tella Oriyomi, 19, Temidayo Williams, 20 and Ibrahim Akindele, 23.

The defendants, who lives in Lagos, were charged with impersonation, examination malpractice and felony.

The Prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji told the court that the offences were committed on April 26 at different examination centres within Lagos state.

According to the prosecutor, the first defendant allegedly came into the examination centre to impersonate someone.

He alleged that the three other defendants were involved in examination malpractice and were all caught inside the exam hall at different centres.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O. O Kushanu granted the defendants bail of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Kushanu adjourned the case until June 16 for mention.
