Wema Bank’s academy wins award for ‘Best Corporate University Culture’

Wema Bank has emerged the gold winner of the 2025 Global Council of Corporate Universities Awards (GlobalCCU) for ‘Best Corporate University Culture’ at an event that held in Paris.

A statement by the bank on Thursday said the award recognised the bank’s training institute, Purple Academy, for its excellence and strategic impact in driving learning culture.

It was reported that the GlobalCCUawa Awards is hosted every two years.

It is considered the gold standard for corporate education, and played host to the world’s most innovative and high-impact corporate universities.

For the 2025 edition, Purple Academy was shortlisted alongside leading institutions from across the world, for its transformative work in human capital development, strategic business alignment and learning innovation.

The award also celebrated corporate universities that demonstrate measurable value for people, business, diversity, and the planet.

The Managing Director of Wema Bank, Mr Moruf Oseni, said that the win showcased the bank’s learning strategy and validates its vision.
