Teenager in court for alleged house breaking, stealing

An 18-year-old Usman Adams on Thursday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan for alleged house breaking and stealing.

Adams, whose residential address was not provided, is being tried for alleged conspiracy, house breaking and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, Insp Olagoke Adegbenro told the court that the defendant committed the offences on May 18, at about 5.00 a.m, at Agbokojo area of Ibadan.

Adegbenro alleged that the defendant and others at large broke into the shop of one Musibau Okanlawon, the complainant, and stole items and cash valued N1,086,000.

The items, according to him, include: television, fan, bottles of perfume, stabiliser, cash of N265,000, among others.

He said the offences contravened Sections 516, 413 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until July 24, for hearing.
