Eno charges residents to collaborate for peace, dev’t

Gov. Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, has urged residents of the state to support his administration towards promoting sustainable peace and development.

Eno who made the call in Uyo, at a thanksgiving service to mark his administration’s second anniversary, described peace as critical to development.

He stated that the peace, unity, security, and stability being enjoyed in the state ranked top on the list of his administration’s achievements after two years in office.

“Peace has been the foundation of our government’s success. I urge everyone to join us to promote peace, it is critical to sustainable development.

“As we all know, no society can develop without sustainable peace, security and unity among its people,” he said.

The governor commended successive administration’s in the state for their contributions towards its growth and development.

Eno also commended Akwa Ibom people for their understanding, support, and love for his administration, saying, “this has helped us a lot”

“In the spirit of the anniversary, I urge us to forgive one another and let peace continue to reign in our state,” he said.

He commended President Bola Tinubu for his foresight and boldness in policy implementation, adding, “the president’s boldness has enabled us to have more funds to carry out projects”

Also speaking at the event, the Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, congratulated the governor for a successful two-year in office.

Rpresented by Sen. Ekong Sampson, Akpabio said that the National Assembly would continue to support and collaborate with the governor in the interest and well-being of Akwa Ibom people.
