Police apprehend 2 suspects, recover stolen property in A’Ibom

The Police Command in Akwa Ibom says it has apprehended two suspects, and recovered stolen property after raiding a criminal hideout in Uyo metropolis.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Timfon John, said in a statement in Uyo on Monday, that police personnel raided a criminal hideout at Udi St.,Uyo, on may 23.

John said that the breakthrough followed credible intelligence which led personnel of the command to quickly swing into action.

The PPRO said that police recovered 14 sewing machines, and an power generator during the operation.

“Two persons who approached the command have already identified their machines among the recovered items,” she said.

The police spokesman further said that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.

She stated that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Baba Azare, was committed to ridding Akwa Ibom of crime and criminals.
