CP orders adequate security in Ekiti, felicitates Muslims on Eid-El-Kabir

The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti, Mr Joseph Eribo, has directed Area Commanders, DPOs and Tactical Commanders to deploy adequate operatives to all strategic points, Eid grounds and places of celebrations of Eid-el-Kabir across the state.
A statement issued by the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), SP Sunday Abutu, on Thursday in Ado-EKiti, quoted Eribo as saying this was to ensure no breakdown of law and order during the celebration.
The CP also directed the deployment of Safer Highway and Anti-Crime Patrol teams on major roads and highways across the state to ensure safety of travellers, commuters and other road users.
Eribo further instructed the personnel deployed to be firm, but civil, professional and polite in carrying out their duties.
He implored citizens to continue to be law abiding and cooperate with the Police and other law enforcement agencies throughout the period of this celebration and beyond.
The police chief advised parents and guardians to warn their wards against acts that could cause a breach of the peace of the state, stressing “as those found wanting will be made to face the full wrath of the law.”
The CP felicitated Muslim faithfuls on the celebration of this year’s Eid-El-Kabir, urging everyone to use the period to pray for peace, unity and progress of the nation.
Eribo also said that it was important for everyone to be security conscious, vigilant and immediately report to the nearest Police Station any untoward incident or happening observed in their locality through 08062335577.
