Enyimba FC Chairman and former Nigerian international, Nwankwo Kanu, has joined millions across the world to felicitate Muslims as they celebrate 2025 Eid Kabir.

Kanu told our correspondent on Friday in Aba that the festival provided an opportunity for Nigerians to show love, embrace peace and unity, and make sacrifices for a better nation.

While emphasising the spiritual significance of the celebration, he urged Muslims to reflect on the virtues of love, forgiveness, and devotion epitomised by Prophet Ibrahim.

“This holy season reminds us of the immense power of faith, sacrifice and obedience to God.

“As we celebrate, let us share love, forgive one another and uplift the less privileged.

“That is the true spirit of this festival. Let us also pray fervently for peace and progress, especially in our dear Abia and our great nation at large,’’ Kanu said.

He implored Muslims to use the occasion to offer special prayers for Nigeria’s leaders, unity, and continued progress of the Enyimba family both on and off the pitch.

Nwankwo also urged responsible celebration.
