New Islamic year: Bago congratulates Muslim Ummah

Gov. Mohammed Umaru-Bago of Niger, has congratulated all Muslim Ummah worldwide on the New Islamic Year 1447 AH.

In a new year congratulatory message through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, issued to newsmen in Minna on Thursday, the governor enjoined the Muslim faithful to be more devoted to the worship of Allah (SWT).

The governor encouraged them to deepen their prayers for the state in particular and the nation in general for lasting peace and tranquility.

While acknowledging the significance of the Islamic New Year to Muslim Ummah, Umaru-Bago urged all adherents of Islam to continue to imbibe the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Hadith of the noble Prophet (PBUH).

The governor encouraged the Muslim Ummah to be ambassadors of peace and unity to facilitate national cohesion.

Umaru-Bago expressed gratitude to Almighty God for allowing the Muslim faithful to witness and celebrate the auspicious 1st day of Muharam.

“Let me use this medium to wish the residents of the state new Islamic year full of peace, happiness, and prosperity.

“I enjoin Muslim faithful to remain prayerful and continue to conduct their daily affairs in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Hadith.

“I want to also call for a collective effort in building a new Niger that is hinged on patriotism, peace, growth, and development,” he pleaded.

Umaru-Bago restated his administration’s determination to continue to provide purposeful leadership, while appealing for continued commitment and unwavering support to his policies and programmes from all residents of the state.
