Oyebanji has demonstrated unwavering commitment to Ekiti progress – Ex-deputy governor

A former Deputy Governor of Ekiti, Chief Abiodun Aluko says Gov. Biodun Oyebanji has demonstrated commitment to the development of the state through various infrastructure projects and human capital development.
Aluko, who is the Chairman of the State Endorsement Committee for Oyebanji’s re-election bid, stated this during the meeting of the committee on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti.
Out correspondent reports that the state-wide endorsement event in support of Oyebanji’s second term has been fixed for July 23 in Ado-Ekiti.
Aluko described Oyebanji as a performing governor, and bridge that united past and present political leaders, as well as connecting stakeholders in an inclusive government that transcends political, social and religious bias.
“Oyebanji has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the progress of Ekiti. His endorsement reflects the will of the people and a shared belief that the best is yet to come under his leadership,” he said.
According to him, the endorsement is to reaffirm support for Oyebanji’s re-election and a declaration of confidence in his ongoing efforts to deliver inclusive development, economic growth and sustained peace across the state.
The former deputy governor emphasised that the endorsement was nether orchestrated nor sponsored by the governor.
“It’s an act of free-will by the stakeholders exercising their fundamental human rights in acknowledgement of his leadership style and good governance.
“It is a period to say thank you Mr Governor, because we haven’t seen it like this before and we haven’t enjoyed it like this before.
“You have brought innovation, creativity and initiatives that is transforming Ekiti from a purely agrarian state to a commercialised state.
“Many of our youths have been engaged through varieties of youth programmes and particularly agri-business. When you look at the criminal index in Nigeria, the state has been adjudged to be the most peaceful.
“This is because most of those that could have turned to criminality have been engaged in one way or another. He has created a lot of jobs for people, even outside the government circle.
“So, we want to say we appreciate you, Mr Governor. We want to say we adore you. We want to say you have sacrificed your time.
“You have sweated to make Ekiti a liveable place for us. Mr Governor, one good turn deserves another. I mean, we beg you and we still want your good works to continue,” Aluko said.
He announced that the July 23 endorsement event would feature remarks from community leaders, representatives from the grassroots, and prominent supporters, marking a key milestone in the lead-up to the 2026 governorship elections
