Ogun Amotekun starts training 500 new recruits July 6

The Western Nigeria Security Network, code named Amotekun Corps, Ogun, has fixed July 6 to start training of successful recruits into the Command.

A statement by Corps Commander, retired Brig.-Gen. Alade Adedigba made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Abeokuta, said the recruitment was to strengthen the operational capacity of the command.

Adedigba said that the training was in line with Amotekun standard practice, and designed to equip the new personnel with the necessary skills and knowledge for operational efficiency to effectively discharge their duties.

“Shortlisted candidates are expected to report for the training exercise scheduled to commence from Sunday, July 6 to Friday, July 18 at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Sagamu by 8:00a.m.

“We encourage the candidates to adequately prepared for this essential training, and arrive on time to facilitate a smooth induction process.

”Candidates are required to bring the following items: bucket , broom , cutlass , two pairs of white round-neck T-shirts , two pairs of white shorts/knickers”

“Other items to come with include two pairs of white tennis sneakers, two pairs of white socks, and two pairs of white bedsheets.”

Also listed are writing materials jotters, pens, pencils, sharpener, erasers, two files containing passport photographs and original and photocopies of credentials, Bank Verification Number (BVN) and National Identification Number (NIN),” he said.

The commander urged all recruits to adhere to the instructions provided and fully cooperate with the camp officials throughout the training period to ensure its success.

“The Corps congratulates the successful candidates and appreciate their courage, cooperation and commitment to serving with the Amotekun Corps,” Adedigba said.
