2027: Group rallies support for Orji Kalu’s senatorial re-election

The Abia North Peace Foundation (ANPF), a socio-political pressure group has affirmed its support for the senatorial re-election of Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu (APC Abia-North)
,
This is contained in a statement on Friday issued by the group and signed by its national officers, Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu and Pastor Caleb Awa, a copy of which was made available to our correspondent on Friday in Abakalilki.
The foundation was reacting to a gathering convened by one Chief Chima Agbaeze in Isuikwuato under the name “Coalition for Equity and Justice in Abia North” describing it as a politically motivated attempt to discredit Kalu.
They argued that while the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi axis held the Senate seat for 16 years without such agitations, Kalu had served only eight years and delivered significant development.
The foundation challenged the moral standing of the equity campaigners, reminding the public that the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi axis occupied the Abia North Senate Seat for a combined sixteen years.
“Four years under Gen. Ike Nwachukwu and 12 yesrd under Chief Uche Chukwumerije, without any agitation from the present crusaders of “rotation” or “justice.”
“In comparison, Kalu had served for just eight years, yet he has brought an unprecedented level of development, federal presence and national recognition to Abia North.
“From roads and schools to scholarships; employment and legislative competence, his record stands head and shoulders above all past occupants of the seat,” the statement read.
The group, which reaffirmed support for Kalu ahead of the 2027 elections, urged the public to reject what they called blackmail disguised as a call for equity.
It accused the coalition of sycophancy and propaganda on behalf of ‘desperate political interests’.
“As the 2027 elections approach, we express confidence that the people of Abia North will not be swayed by baseless propaganda rather, they will choose competence and character.
“No amount of propaganda or orchestrated outrage can erase Kalu’s legacy or halt the forward march of democracy; we stand firmly behind OUK,” the group stated.
