China urges U.S. to enhance cooperation, reduce misunderstanding

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun expressed on Tuesday that China hopes the United States will work with it to strengthen mutual understanding, reduce misunderstandings, and boost cooperation through ongoing dialogue and communication.

Guo made the remarks during a regular press conference while addressing questions on China-U.S. economic and trade relations.

Guo reiterated that China’s stance on tariff issues remains consistent and clear.

He emphasised the importance of implementing the key consensus reached by the two leaders during their recent telephone conversation and encouraged the U.S. to fully utilise the economic and trade consultation mechanism.

He called on both countries to collaborate in promoting the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of bilateral ties.
