Rep. Kuye tasks new APC national chairman on inclusivity in party affairs
-
Ademorin Kuye (APC-Lagos) has tasked the new All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, on inclusivity in the management of party affairs.
In a statement on Saturday, Kuye, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Public Assets, urged Yilwatda to ensure accommodation of divergent views to further expand the party.
The lawmaker, representing Somolu Federal Constituency of Lagos, said that as national chairman of the largest party in Africa, it was important for him to uphold inclusiveness and sensitivity to the yearning of the people.
“I congratulate the new national chairman and rejoice with the leadership for the strategic choice aimed at bringing a massive new beginning of transformation into the party.
“I, therefore, enjoin our new chairman to build on this platform and make the party the envy of all democrats in the world,” he said.
Kuye commended President Bola Tinubu for giving APC a democratic leadership and for his maximum support for the growth of the party.
He said that Tinubu’s economic re-engineering and reforms had set a foundation and pathway for the country’s economic rebirth.
According to him, the reforms have received global recognition and admiration, attracting many opposition governors, legislators and other bigwigs to APC.
Kuye said that Yilwatda’s election reflected inclusiveness, as many people from the North-Central geo-political zone had clamored for zoning of the position to the zone.
He noted that Yilwatda, as a young person, also showed that youths would be carried along in the affairs of the party.
Until his emergence as APC national chairman, Yilwatda, a former APC governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections in Plateau, was the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
