Lagos to formulate new security policy soon – Sanwo-Olu

Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State will inaugurate three road networks in Badagry on Wednesday as part of efforts to drive infrastructure development.

The inauguration is also in an effort to reduce traffic congestion and boost economic activities, according to a statement by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso.

Our correspondent reports that the roads are Aradagun-Mosafejo-Ilado-Imeke, Samuel Ekundayo, and Hospital.

Omotoso said that the roads streched across Badagry Local Government Area and Olorunda Local Council Development Area.

He said that execution of the road projects showed the government’s commitment to enhancing economic growth and prosperity.

“The administration of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, envisioned the provision of road infrastructure in the T (Traffic Management and Transportation) Pillar of its THEMES Plus Agenda.

“This will enhance trade and commerce, boost multi-modal transportation, and open up remote areas,” he said.

Omotoso said that the governor had handed over 39 roads and five bridges to Lagos residents in the last few months.

The commissioner emphasised that infrastructure was a strategic economic growth driver.

“The Aradagun-Mosafejo-Ilado-Imeke Road complements the earlier commissioned 6.65km double lane single carriageway with a 300m bridge connecting Imeke, Ajido, Iworo/Whispering Palms to Epeme Road.

“The Samuel Ekundayo Road is a strategic arterial road linking Joseph Dosu Road from Samuel Ekundayo Road/Toga Road Intersection.

“It connects the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, serving as an alternative route.

“Similarly, Hospital Road connects Idale, Akarakunmoh, Povita, Topo, and Ajido communities to Lagos-Badagry Expressway via Joseph Dosu Road,” he said.

Omotayo gave the assurance that the road networks would further improve trade and commerce and boost tourism.

He added that they would serve as alternative access routes and improve interconnectivity.

He reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to improving the lives of Lagos residents through infrastructure development.
