NCAA bans Fuji star K1 de Ultimate from flying for six months
Fuji legend, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal—famously known as K1 de Ultimate—has been slammed with a six-month flight ban across Nigeria following what officials described as serious misconduct at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
In a dramatic turn of events, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) made the explosive announcement on Thursday, confirming that the music superstar is now banned from boarding any domestic fligh for half a year.
Michael Achimugu, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, did not mince words during a fiery press conference:
“Let it be known—no one is above the law,” he declared. “The passenger in question is being blacklisted for six months. Everyone involved will face consequences,” he said.
Achimugu stressed that aviation laws are globally standardized and strictly enforced to protect lives, regardless of a passenger’s celebrity status or political clout.
“This is not about fame or connections,” he continued. “Justice will be served, and we are digging deep to ensure every individual responsible is held accountable,” he said.
The NCAA is not stopping at a flight ban. The agency is reportedly preparing formal notifications to the Attorney General and the Inspector General of Police, pushing for legal charges to be brought against the Fuji star.
When probed about Ayinde’s well-known relationship with President Bola Tinubu, Achimugu shut down any insinuations of favoritism.
“Both the President and Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, are firm believers in due process,” he said. “There will be no sacred cows.”
