Kane hits 93rd minute wonder-goal as Spurs sink Juventus in Singapore

Harry Kane missed a penalty but scored a stoppage-time winner as Bayern Munich edged Wehen Wiesbaden 3-2 in the German Cup on Wednesday.

Bayern squandered a two-goal lead against their third-tier opponents but advanced to the second round thanks to Kane’s dramatic late goal.

Kane had previously scored all 31 competitive penalties for club and country since the 2022 World Cup.

The England striker had also converted all 22 penalties since joining Bayern two years ago — until Wednesday night.

Kane scored from the spot in the 16th minute, giving Bayern the lead in a match they initially controlled.

Six minutes after halftime, Michael Olise doubled the advantage, seemingly putting Bayern on course for a routine win.

But Wiesbaden hit back with two quick goals from Fatih Kaya during a defensive lapse to level the tie.

Kane had a chance to restore Bayern’s lead in the 76th minute but saw his penalty saved by Florian Stritzel.

Stritzel also blocked the rebound header and a follow-up shot, frustrating Kane during a frantic second half.

Despite the miss, Kane popped up in stoppage time to head home the winner — his second goal of the night.

It was Kane’s sixth goal in three matches this season, continuing his prolific form.

He had earlier appealed for a penalty for handball, but with no VAR in the Cup, there was no review.

Bayern eventually got another penalty, which Kane missed, ending his perfect record from the spot for the club.

“Sometimes it’s like that in football,” Bayern defender Konrad Laimer said after the final whistle.

“We had enough chances to go 3-0 or 4-0 up, but we didn’t take them,” he added.

“It’s the Cup, and the first round is never easy. In the end, all that counts is that we qualify.”
