2027: Delta APC endorses Tinubu, Oborevwori as sole candidates

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta has unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu, and Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori as the sole presidential and governorship candidates for 2027 general elections.

The party also passed vote of confidence on the two for their impactful governance on the people of the state.

The decision was reached during APC State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting held on Wednesday Aug. 27, at the party secretariat in Asaba.

A statement by APC State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, made available to our correspondent in Asaba, said that APC State Chairman, Mr Omeni Sobotie presided over the meeting.

It was that the meeting was attended by SEC members and 25 local government area chairmen in the state.

Sobotie it said used the medium to charge party leaders to remain steadfast, disciplined and united in strengthening APC in Delta under the leadership of Gov. Oborevwori.

Onojeghuo quoting the chairman said that harmony and loyalty were essential for the party’s victory in future elections, urging members to embrace reconciliation and inclusion across all levels of leadership.

He said that the focus of the party is on strengthening grassroots mobilisation, addressing internal divisions and repositioning the party as a dominant force in Delta politics.

The chairman also briefed members on the forthcoming empowerment programme designed to bring relief and tangible benefits to party members and communities across the state.

The highpoint of the meeting was the adoption of a resolution endorsing President Tinubu as APC’s sole presidential candidate in recognition of his visionary leadership, bold economic reforms and commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The party also endorsed Gov. Oborevwori as the sole governorship candidate of the party in Delta state for 2027, with members citing his proven record of service, inclusive leadership and dedication to good governance under the M.O.R.E Agenda.

The motion was moved by Chief Ubu Digbame, State Assistant Auditor of the party and seconded by Pastor Norbert Sochukwudinma, party Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area.

Accordingly, the endorsement was met with thunderous applause, reflecting the overwhelming support of the SEC for the two leaders.
