Soludo receives 3 international awards at 2025 Global Power Forum

Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has been honored with three international awards at the 2025 Global Power Forum.

The forum was held in New York City alongside the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

This was contained in a statement by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Mr Christian Aburime and made available to newsmen on Friday in Awka.

Aburime said that the governor received the African Public Service Excellence Award, the African Governor of the Year Award and a Certificate of Special Recognition from the House of Representatives of South Carolina, USA.

He said that the awards were a testament to Soludo’s visionary leadership and the state’s growing reputation on the continental and global stage.

“The South Carolina House of Representatives commended Gov. Soludo for his outstanding career and service.

“His citation highlighted professional journey as a renowned professor of economics, former Chief Economic Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

“The citation also acknowledged Soludo’s instrumental role in strengthening Nigeria’s financial standing and positioning the country as a leading economic force in Africa,” he said.

Aburime said that Soludo also delivered a keynote address titled,“Africa Unleashed: Navigating the Disruptions, Enhancing Opportunities; The Anambra State Example.’’

“His presentation showcased the transformative reforms and initiatives underway in Anambra.’’

Aburime, quoting Soludo said that Anambra is being positioned as a beacon of innovation and sustainable development across Africa and the Caribbean.”
