‎Tinubu urges security agencies to apprehend killers of Arise TV anchor ‎

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Ms. Somtochukwu Maduagwu, a news anchor with Arise Television News, who was killed during a robbery at her residence in Abuja.

‎This is contained in a statement by Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday in Abuja.

‎Tinubu extended heartfelt condolences to the Maduagwu’s family, Arise News management, and the entire Nigerian media community.

‎”Maduagwu was a promising professional journalist whose life was cut short in a cruel and condemnable manner.

‎”Security and law enforcement agencies should conduct a quick and thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice without delay.”

‎Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration remained committed to protecting lives and property, and would intensify efforts to combat all forms of crime across the country.

‎Our correspondent reports that Maduagwu, 29, was killed early Monday during an armed robbery at her residence in Katampe, Abuja. The incident is currently under investigation by the Nigeria Police.
