Alia constitutes boards, appoints DG public procurement commission

Hyacinth Alia has constituted the boards of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) Makurdi, and Public Procurement Commission (PPC) .

Mr Tersoo Kula, his Chief Press Secretary confirmed the appointments in a statement on Wednesday made available to newsmen in Makurdi.

According Kula, the governor also approved the appointment of Dr Aper Zava as the new Director General, Public Procurement Commission.

‎He said that the governor will serve as the chairman of the PPC board, while the deputy governor and commissioners were members.

‎He added that Prof. Orkurga Malu, the pioneer Chief Medical Director of BSUTH has been appointed as the board chairman of the hospital.

Other members he said include Dr Stephen Hwande, CMD, BSUTH, Mr Terhemba Ingyomo, Dr Emmanuel Baki, Frank Audu, the medical profession, Provost College of Health Sciences, Chairman Medical Advisory Council as well as the representative of the vice chancellor.

The chief press secretary quoted the state governor as urging the newly appointed officials to bring their wealth of experience, commitment, and professionalism to bear in the discharge of their duties.

The governor also emphasised that the appointments were part of his administration’s determination to strengthen governance and drive sustainable development across the state.
