Safari, produced by Emelonye, has dazzling blend of cast including Osas Ighodaro, Ali Nuhu, Jide Achufusi, Emmanuel Mugo, and Ken Ambani, among others.
It was filmed across Lagos, Abuja, Nairobi, and Mombasa, making it one of Nollywood’s most ambitious cross‐continental collaborations.
The film’s plot tells the story of Nkiru Farouk, the disenchanted wife of a Nigerian politician who embarks on a safari vacation in Kenya.
Her journey takes an unexpected turn when she becomes romantically involved with a local beach boy who is later accused of murdering a British tourist.
Described as a blend of romance, thriller, and drama, Safari marks a significant milestone for Nollywood’s expanding international reach.
The film’s release is expected to attract both local and international audiences, further establishing Emelonye’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading cinematic voices.
The highly anticipated movie was premiered earlier this month at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF).
