Bassey Otu of Cross River has dissolved the state Board of the Local Government Service Commission.

This is contained in a statement signed by Otu’s Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mr Linus Obogo on Tuesday in Calabar.

The governor said the board was dissolved after his administration discovered cases of abuse of office and mismanagement of the recent job recruitment process in the commission.

Otu described the revelation as disturbing, calling it a betrayal of public trust and a violation of established service ethics.

“I want to reaffirm that the flawed recruitment process remains suspended and will be replaced with a transparent, merit-based exercise that meets my administration’s strict standards,” he said.

Restating his zero tolerance for corruption, Otu pledged continued efforts to restore public confidence in government institutions.

“We will continue to take strong steps to make our institutions honest and trustworthy.

“Together, we will build a better Cross River State where things are done the right way,” Otu stated
