Anglo Asian Mining Boosts Copper Production with Flotation Plant Upgrade

Anglo Asian Mining PLC, the AIM-listed gold, copper, and silver producer focused in Azerbaijan, has announced the successful installation and operation of two new larger filter presses and an associated thickener at its Gedabek flotation plant.

The upgrade, according to a report from Global Mining Review, sourced from Yon Proses & Filtrasyon Teknoloji in Türkiye at a cost of US$0.5 million, aims to increase future copper production by processing higher-grade ore from the new Gilar mine. The company has also procured Imhoflot Pneumatic cells, with a contract signed for US$1.6 million for installation, expected to enhance metal recovery ¹ ².

The recent modifications have already yielded positive results, with November marking a record month for copper production at Gedabek, totaling 688 tonnes. The company currently has a stockpile of 53,190 tonnes of Gilar ore containing 1.8 g/t of gold and 3.58% copper, which will be processed next year through the expanded plant ¹.

“These upgrades enable us to efficiently process ore variability, particularly valuable considering global copper demand,” said Stephen Westhead, Vice President of Anglo Asian. The company looks forward to continuing its growth strategy, with construction work on the flotation plant expansion set to commence early in 2026
