Adams Oshiomhole (APC-Edo) on Monday donated hair dryers, sewing and grinding machines to 300 women and youths in his constituent.

Oshiomhole, who represents Edo North senatorial district said that the items donated were to expose the beneficiaries to some sources of income.

Oshiomhole, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Victor Oshioke said that the items were meant for them to start their own businesses in order to help them earn a living.

“Empowering the constituents will further enhance livelihoods and create sustainable opportunities for the people.

“We are committed to your welfare through championing the causes vital to the prosperity and well-being of the Edo North Senatorial District.

“Today, we are distributing items to improve the well-being of our people.

“We will continue to strive for development and the betterment of our beloved constituency,” he said.

Also, the legislative aide to Oshiomhole, Adams Mumin urged the beneficiaries to utilise the opportunity to lay a foundation of becoming future established entrepreneurs and boost the economy of their immediate communities.

“Please don’t sell the empowerment tools and other materials but try to make good use of them,” he urged them.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to newsmen thanked the lawmaker for the gesture.

They said that many families would now have means of livelihood and will not beg to feed their children.

“These empowerment tools are ladders that will change our lives better,” Iyabo Musa and Abeni Raji said.
