Sonny Echono, Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), has appreciated President Bola Tinubu’s administration for speedy approval of its funding support for the development of tertiary education in the country.

Echono stated this at the 2025 management retreat in Yola on Thursday with the theme, “Advancing TETFund Mandate For Efficient Service Delivery In Beneficiary Institutions.”

He said that, under Tinubu’s administration, there had been speedy approval of funds for the development of tertiary education across benefiting institutions.

“As I am speaking, even the 2026 intervention guidelines have been approved by Mr President, so we are ready to hit the ground running.

“That is why we are here to work out a strategy for effective implementation,” he said.

Prof. Ibrahim Umar, Vice Chancellor, Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, appreciated TETFund support for benefiting institutions.

According to him, without TETFund funds, many institutions will have collapsed.

He appealed for TETFund to help to come to the aid of institutions in the area of road network and security challenge, especially kidnapping of lecturers.

Mohammed Dagereji, Provost, Federal College of Education (FEC), Yola, also thanked TETFund for all its intervention, and appealed for more support in the area of security, power, and internet service.

Prof. Augustine Clement, Vice Chancellor, Adamawa State University, appreciated the management of TETFund for the retreat and assured it that the institutions would continue judicious use of the funds allocated to them.

Our correspondent reports that the executive secretary also inaugurated some TETFund projects at Modibbo Adama University (MAU).
