Ex-ANAN president hails FG for stabilising Naira in 2025
Dr Samuel Nzekwe, a former President of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), has commended the Federal Government for stabilising the Naira between N1,450 and N1,500 in 2025.
Nzekwe made the commendation while speaking with our correspondent on Monday in Ota.
“The Federal Government did well in stabilising the Naira last year, however, there is need for improvement in the economy,” he said.
The former ANAN president urged the government to make concerted efforts in 2026 to further stabilise the Naira, identifying this as a reason for rising inflation in the country.
Nzekwe said that almost everything consumed in the country was imported, stressing that this had contributed to high demands for dollars in the exchange rate.
“The Federal Government needs to boost the economy by creating enabling environment for the manufacturing sector to thrive, so that Nigerians can embrace Made-In-Nigeria products to reduce pressure on dollars.
“Also, they need to address insecurity challenges, so that more people can go to the farms to produce as the country has more comparative advantage in this sector.” he said.
Nzekwe further advised the Federal Government to provide more infrastructure and more conducive atmosphere to attract more foreign investors into the country in 2026.
