Alhaji Ibrahim Danmalikin-Gidangoga, the Special Adviser, political matters to the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has described the calls for the removal of the minister as a clear envy.

Gidangoga stated this while reacting to calls for Matawalle’s removal from some political platforms in the state.

“I think a call for Matawalle’s removal from any citizen of Zamfara is a clear envy.

“This is the work of political sponsors who are not wishing the state and Nigeria well.

“It is only in Zamfara you hear such calls because our people are taking politics differently from that development.

“I think the people of the state should desist from politicising security matter,” Gidangoga added.

He said that Matawalle has been doing well for the state and he was discharging his duties given to him by President Bola Tinubu effectively.

“Therefore, I consider reacting to such calls by some sponsored politicians as a waste of time,” he explained.

Meanwhile, a concerned citizen of the state, Sanusi Lalan had at a press briefing on Monday in Gusau blamed Matawalle for an alleged “non-performance in tackling the security challenges in Zamfara.”

Speaking at the press briefing, Lalan blamed Matawalle for not cooperating with Gov Dauda Lawal to rescue the state from the recurring security challenges.

“Over the years, Zamfara has not been safe even when Gov. Dauda Lawal has been doing his best to save lives, Matawalle is not cooperating.

“This is to say it clearly that Matawalle has not done justice to the people of the state, therefore we are calling for his removal.

“Bello Matawalle hails from Zamfara. Since his assumption of office as a minister, he rarely visit the state and even if he visits, it is for his political mission and not for security,” Lalan claimed.
