Yusuf pledges to strengthen synergy with Police
Abba Yusuf of Kano State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Nigeria Police to maintain peace and security across the state.
This is disclosed in a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, on Wednesday in Kano.
Batute said Yusuf made this known during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police (CP) in the state, Bakori, aiming to enhance the existing relationship between the state government and the police command.
He stated that insecurity was a major challenge he faced upon assuming office, but the situation had significantly improved under Bakori’s leadership.
The governor emphasised that Kano belonged to all its people and that political differences should not compromise security.
He assured the police command of the state government’s moral and institutional support, acknowledging the police’s efforts in maintaining peace.
Responding, Bakori described the governor’s visit as a demonstration of his commitment and support for the police force, crediting Yusuf’s guidance for the command’s successes.
He reaffirmed the police command’s commitment to working with the state government to ensure sustained peace and security.
The CP also paraded three suspects allegedly involved in Sunday’s alleged killing of a mother and her children in Dorayi-Chiranci Quarters of Kano metropolis.
