The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Daura Local Government Area (LGA) in Katsina State have endorsed Gov. Dikko Radda as their only Governorship candidate for the 2027 elections.

The stakeholders declared their support for the Governor at a meeting in Daura, on Monday, led by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Nasir Yahya.

Addressing the gathering, the speaker said that all the party’s members across the local government considered no other governorship candidate better than Radda.

According to him, the decision to endorse the governor for a second term was reached by all the party’s members and supporters across Daura, emphasising full support for APC.

He further called on the people in the area to give their full support to the party’s decision for the development of Daura, the state and Nigeria as a whole.

“This decision was taken not by a few of us, but by the entire APC stakeholders, across the local government and also Daura zone,” the speaker said.

Earlier, the Chairman, APC stakeholders in Daura, Ahmad El-Marzuq, said that the aim of the meeting was to express their loyalty to the governor ahead of the 2027 elections.

He explained that the decision was taken with the support of the present and former National and state Assembly members representing the area.

“The reason for this gathering is to inform the APC national and state leaders that we’re in support of the governor, and also in supporting him to contest for the second term.

“I wish to inform you that the Daura people are bonafide members of the APC, because the party was born here, because of our late father, former President Muhammad Buhari.

“Therefore, we have no other party than APC, and we have no governorship candidate other than Radda. I assured you that we’re for APC, and we’ll continue to be for the party,” he assured.

According to El-Marzuq, there is no reason for them not to support the governor for a second term.
