The APC in Lagos State has dismissed reports alleging that its State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, ordered the recall of all Secretary to the Local Governments (SLGs) and supervisors to the party secretariat.

The party described the report as false and misleading.

The Lagos APC Spokesman, Mr Seye Oladejo, in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos, said the publication was aimed at creating unnecessary tension within the party and among the public.

”The Lagos State Chapter of the APC has been made aware of reports claiming that the State Chairman has recalled all SLGs and supervisors to Acme in connection with directives allegedly issued from the Villa.

”We wish to categorically state that this report is false, misleading, and clearly intended to create unnecessary tension within our party and among the public,” Oladejo said.

Oladejo said that the state chairman of the party never issue such a directive, nor was there any emergency meeting scheduled as being speculated.

He added that the party remained disciplined and guided by due process.

”The Lagos APC remains a disciplined, transparent, and law-abiding political party, guided strictly by due process and collective decision-making,” he said.

According to him, the party’s primary focus is on preparations for the forthcoming national elections.

”Our primary focus at this critical time remains putting every necessary structure in place as we count down to the forthcoming national elections.

”We are fully committed to strengthening our internal processes and mobilising effectively to ensure continued progress and victory at the polls.”

The spokesman advised party members and the public against spreading unverified information.

”We therefore advise party members, supporters, and the general public to desist from spreading or entertaining rumours capable of needlessly heating up the polity.

”The party will continue to keep the public informed of any official updates through our usual and recognised communication channels,” Oladejo said.
