Tinubu deserves second term, says Ex-minister, Ikoh
The Abia Coordinator For Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Chief Henry Ikoh, says President Bola Tinubu’s sterling performance has guaranteed his re-election in 2027, citing significant improvements in the economy and governance.
Ikoh spoke at a news briefing on Thursday in Umuahia, after holding a meeting with stakeholders of the group in Abia.
Our correspondent reports that Renewed Hope Ambassadors is a pro-group promoting Tinubu’s policies and re-election bid.
Ikoh, a former Minister of State for Science Technology and Innovation, lauded Tinubu’s removal of fuel subsidy, saying that State Governments can now pay salaries as and when due and fund big projects.
He also cited increased minimum wage, access to interest-free loans, and a stabilised economy as some of the achievements of Tinubu’s administration.
He said that the Nigerian Card is now accepted globally.
Ikoh, a past Commissioner for Industry and Technology in Abia, also commended local production initiatives of the Federal Government, leading to reduced rice price in the country.
He emphasised that Tinubu’s message of “renewed hope” is what Nigeria needed to unite and move forward.
He urged Abia residents to support Tinubu and the APC, predicting a landslide in 2027 for the president.
Ikoh emphasised the need for the party’s unity and readiness to take leadership roles in other states, aiming to industrialise Abia, create wealth, and establish a middle class.
He said: “The message that we bring is the message of hope, that of Mr President, to bring Abia to limelight, to bring it to the centre, that is the presidency.
“The president has done very well that he needs our support for his re-election because about three years ago, a bag of rice cost as much as N130,000, but today it is between N60,000 and N70,000.
“The president has encouraged people to produce what we eat, without depending on foreign production, and that is the only way we can stand out as a nation.”
