Ramadan: Tinubu donates 12,000 bags of rice to Jigawa residents
President Bola Tinubu has donated 12,000 bags of 25kg of rice to Jigawa residents as Ramadan package.
Gov Umar Namadi of the state, disclosed this at the distribution of the rice in Dutse on Monday.
Namadi said the state government also added 2,350 bags to the 12,000 bags for distribution across the 287 wards of the state.
He explained that each of the 287 wards would receive 50 bags of the rice for onward distribution to vulnerable people, including elderly persons.
The governor charged the local government distribution committees to be vigilant and proactive in reaching out to the intended beneficiaries.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Special Duties in the state, Mr Awwalu Sankara, commended Tinubu for the gesture and urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the package.
Also, the Speaker, Jigawa State House of Assembly, Mr Haruna Aliyu, urged the beneficiaries to be ambassadors of the Renewed Hope Agenda by telling residents of the state about programmes and policies of the Federal Government.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Ahmad Garba, the APC Chairman in the state and Mr Yahaya Ahli, the APC Dutse Zone Chairman, lauded the President for the the gesture.
They urged the beneficiaries to continue to support the President and the APC in the state and beyond.
