The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has commenced preparations for the 2027 general elections, unveiling free expression of interest forms for female aspirants, youths and People Living with Disabilities (PLWD).

Our correspondent reports that the party also said female aspirants, youths and PLWD would pay only 50 per cent of the nomination form fees.

This is contained in an internal memo dated April 27, signed by the National Secretary, Dipo Olayoku, and made available to newsmen in Katsina.

According to him, the decision followed approval by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

Olayoku said, “As part of preparations for the 2027 elections, the NNPP has exempted women, youths and PLWD from paying for the expression of interest form.”

He explained that under the new guidelines, House of Assembly aspirants were to pay ₦350,000 for both forms, while House of Representatives hopefuls would pay ₦1.75 million.

“Senate contenders face a ₦3 million fee, governorship aspirants are required to pay ₦11 million, while presidential hopefuls will pay ₦30 million for both forms,” he said.

Olayoku revealed that the party had fixed May 26, for its primaries across all wards nationwide.

The national secretary said the NNPP had adopted consensus as its preferred option, adding that direct primaries would be deployed where that option fails.

He further assured that additional guidelines would be released in due course as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 polls.
