The Federal High Court, Abuja on Tuesday, adjourned until May 6, a suit seeking to uphold the indefinite suspension of Sen. Ireti Kingibe by the Wuse Ward chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

When the matter was called, Counsel to the plaintiffs, Mr Kolawole Olowookere, SAN filed an application seeking to amend their originating summons.

Kingibe’s counsel, Mr Marshall Abubakar, did not oppose the application but told the court he would require at least 48 hours to respond to the amended process.

The presiding judge, Justice Peter Lifu subsequently adjourned the matter until May 6 for hearing.

Our correspondent reports that the suit is seeking an order of the court to uphold Kingibe’s suspension by the Wuse Ward chapter.

Our correspondent also reports that Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory in the Senate, was suspended indefinitely by the ADC Wuse Ward chapter.

The ward cited alleged anti-party activities and violations of the party’s constitution as grounds for the suspension.
