2027: We recorded impressive turnout of aspirants purchasing nomination forms – LP
Labour Party says it has recorded impressive turnout of aspirants purchasing nomination forms for various elective offices ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, said this in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja.
According to him, many notable politicians have signified their interest in running for elective positions under the umbrella of the party.
Asogwa listed the wife of the late Ondo State governor, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, who is vying for Imo East Senatorial District as part of the notable aspirants who purchased the forms on Thursday.
He said that said as of the time of issuing the statement, many aspirants were still at the party’s national secretariat seeking to purchase their nomination forms.
Speaking with newsmen after purchasing his expression of interest and nomination forms, a former member of the House of Representatives, Hassan Barguwa, commended the process put in place by the party.
Barguwa, who represented Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency, expressed confidence in the renewed fortunes of the party, assuring supporters of the party’s growing strength in Adamawa and across the North-East zone.
Our correspondent reports that the party commenced sales of nomination forms for all elective offices on Wednesday.
