Eid El-Kabir special operations: FRSC corps marshal commends operatives, calls for sustained momentum

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has commended personnel deployed for the Eid-el-Kabir Special Patrol Operations for their dedication, professionalism, and remarkable performance nationwide.

This is contained in a statement by the corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), Osondu Ohaeri on Monday in Abuja.

The corps marshal’s commendation followed reports received from supervisory teams deployed from the National Headquarters to monitor the nationwide special operations.

He lauded the commitment and gallantry demonstrated by the personnel, whom he said, had in various capacity contributed significantly to the successes recorded so far in ensuring safer highways and smoother traffic flow during the festive period.

He urged the corps personnel to sustain the momentum, in view of their general conduct and operational efficiency during the Eid-El-Kabir celebration.

”I am impressed with the positive impact of the special patrol operations and the unwavering commitment of all personnel during the Sallah.

”I also appreciate the cooperation received from members of the motoring public, and I appeal to all road users to continue supporting the corps by complying with traffic regulations and adhering strictly to all road safety advisories,” he said.

Mohammed who also reviewed the progress of the operations nationwide, expressed confidence in the capacity of the personnel to sustain the gains already achieved.

He however, noted with concern that some motorists still engaged in dangerous traffic violations capable of undermining road safety efforts.

He therefore warned motorists against speeding, dangerous overtaking, overloading, use of phones while driving, and other traffic infractions,

He emphasised that such violations remained major contributors to road traffic crashes, and advised road users to always exercise patience, maintain discipline on the highways, and comply with established traffic regulations.

According to him, road safety remains a shared responsibility and the road does not forgive mistakes.

The corps marshal also reassured the public of the corps’ commitment to ensuring a safe and hitch-free post Eid el-Kabir celebration for all Nigerians.

He said that the corps would continue to sustain enforcement, public enlightenment, traffic management, and prompt rescue services across the nation’s highways.
