The Police command in Lagos State has assured residents that there is no credible intelligence indicating any planned attack or abduction of schoolchildren in the state.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Tijani, gave the assurance in a statement issued on Monday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi.

Tijani said a viral notice alleging that bandits planned to attack schools had been thoroughly assessed and lacked verified security intelligence.

He urged parents, guardians, school authorities and residents to remain calm and avoid panic over the circulating message.

“While all security concerns are taken seriously, there is currently no confirmed threat within Lagos State,” he said.

The commissioner said he had ordered an immediate assessment of the situation and directed enhanced security measures around schools and key locations.

According to him, officers have been deployed alongside other security agencies to protect schools, critical infrastructure and residential communities.

Tijani reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining peace and security across the state.

“Any individual or group attempting to spread fear or engage in criminal activity will be decisively dealt with in accordance with the law,” he warned.

He encouraged residents to remain vigilant and support security efforts by providing timely and credible information.

The commissioner urged the public to report suspicious movements, persons or activities to the nearest police station or through the command’s emergency lines.

The command’s emergency lines are: 07061019374, 08065154338, 08063299264, 08039344870, and 09168630929.
