NABTEB seeks inter-agency synergy to promote technical, vocational education

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), has advocated inter-agency synergy to promote awareness on Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) in Nigeria.

The Registrar, Dr Mohammed Aminu, stated this on Wednesday while monitoring the 2026 National Business Certificate (NBC)/National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations at Government Science Technical College, Ringim, Jigawa.

He said that with effective awareness on vocational and technical education, many people would enroll to acquire relevant skills and knowledge.

Aminu underscored the importance of strong synergy between the board and the Federal Ministry of Education, to create awareness on technical education.

He highlighted that Nigeria could unveil a lot of innovations and achieve a sustainable technical maintenance culture through technical education.

The NABTEB helmsman urged government at all levels to prioritise technical education, adding that, “Nigeria needs not to be importing automobiles that it can’t maintain.

“With large investments in the sector, there will be more innovations and maintenance culture in Nigeria,” he said.

Aminu expressed satisfaction with the Ringim examination centre in view of its world class standard workshop.

“Only a few centres are close to obtaining the standards in terms of the workshop arrangement and spacing as Ringim has.

“I was impressed by the adherence to the examination rules, and the supervisors affirmed that there was no misconduct from the students,” he said.

While advising the school management to sustain efforts toward meeting the standards of a Federal Technical College, Aminu urged Jigawa government to provide more facilities at the college, to enable it to meet world class standards.
