At 58, I’ve devoted 38 years to serving God — Adegbite

The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, says his life and career remain a testimony of God’s faithfulness, having spent 38 out of his 58 years in divine service.

​Adegbite made the declaration during a thanksgiving gathering organised to mark his 58th birthday at the commission’s headquarters on Monday in Abuja.

​The NCPC boss described his appointment as a privilege to further serve God, contribute to national growth, and promote unity within the Body of Christ.

​”Out of the 58 years I have lived on earth, I have spent 38 years serving God and i attribute my accomplishments to divine grace,” he said.

​He expressed gratitude to his wife, Princess Adewunmi Fadeke, his family, and NCPC staff for their unwavering support.

​The cleric also acknowledged President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, for their goodwill, particularly appreciating the First Lady for personally conveying her birthday wishes.

​Adegbite emphasised the need for religious harmony, peace, and national stability, urging NCPC staff to view positions of responsibility as avenues to make positive impact.

​He said that pilgrimage exercises conducted under his watch over the past two and a half years had been spiritually rewarding, adding that preparations for the next exercise would commence in earnest.

​Speaking at the event, former Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, congratulated Adegbite on his anniversary and commended his dedication to God and the nation.

​Tallen prayed for continued strength, divine protection, and greater achievements for the celebrant.

​The event featured prayers, goodwill messages, gift presentations, and the cutting of an anniversary cake.

It was attended by management staff, family members, and friends.

​Adegbite is the fourth substantive Executive Secretary of the NCPC.

He also serves as the Chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel, Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and Chairman of the Southern Christian Leaders Assembly.
