Court remands man over alleged theft of N1.1m motorcycle
An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court, on Monday, remanded a 30-year-old man, Busayo Olajide, for allegedly stealing a Honda motorcycle valued at N1.1 million.
The prosecutor, ASP Abdullahi Emmanuel, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 10, at Ilode area, Ile-Ife.
Emmanuel alleged that Olajide stole a Honda motorcycle with Registration No. FFE 604 QJ, valued at N1.1 million, belonging to one Oluwafemi Ogunrinde.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant, who was not legally represented, pleaded guilty to the one-count charge of stealing.
The Magistrate, Mrs Abosede Sarumi, declined to grant the defendant bail and ordered his remand at the Ile-Ife Correctional Centre.
He adjourned the case until Sept. 24, for presentation of facts.
