Kwara Speaker mourns victims of Ilorin building collapse

Speaker of Kwara House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, has commiserated with families of the victims of the three-storey building that collapse in Ilorin.

This is contained in a statement issued in Ilorin by the speaker’s Chief Press Secretary, Sheu Yusuf.

It was reported that the incident occurred on Tuesday at No. 41, Popo Giwa Street, beside Gogoro Mosque in Ilorin West Local Government Area of the state.

It was also reported that the incident claimed four lives, while four others were rescued with varying degrees of injuries.

Danladi-Salihu condoled with the families of the deceased and wished the survivors quick recovery.

The speaker, also the APC governorship candidate commended the state government and the team of rescuers for their swift response.

He said the prompt intervention led to the successful rescue of four people who were initially trapped inside the collapsed building.
