Wike hails First Lady at 66, commends support to Nigerians

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has extended warm birthday wishes to the First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, on the occasion of her 66th birthday.

Wike, in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Mr Lere Olayinka, in Abuja on Tuesday, described the first lady as an inspiration to Nigerian women.

He recognised the first lady, who turned 66 on Monday, as a firm pillar of strength to President Bola Tinubu and the nation at large.

“I celebrate and rejoice with our ever-caring and development-oriented first lady on the attainment of this significant age in her life and wish her many more years of service to our country,” he said.

He said that the first lady’s influence extends far beyond the presidential villa, particularly reaching those who need help the most.

He commended her continuous dedication to uplifting underprivileged citizens, describing her as an “invaluable champion for vulnerable populations” across the country.

Highlighting specific developmental projects in the nation’s capital, the FCT minister praised the first lady’s active role in transforming the Abuja City Gate.

He noted that the landmark’s modern appearance is a direct reflection of her deep commitment to ensuring the success of her husband’s administration.

Wike also lauded her flagship programme, the Renewed Hope Initiative, for making a tangible difference over the past three years.

According to Wike, this project has successfully delivered critical relief and opportunities to countless Nigerians in need of socio-economic support.

Reflecting on her character and public standing, Wike said that the first lady’s simple and accessible way of life serves as a powerful inspiration to women across Nigeria.

He expressed gratitude for her modest posture, noting that her exemplary leadership remains a guiding light for many.

“Reaching the age of 66 is a clear testament to divine favour and I pray that God would continue to sustain her with sound health and long life in the years ahead.
