Gov. Ademola Adeleke of Osun has signed the State Park Management Bill, recently passed by the House of Assembly, into law.

It was reported that the bill was passed by the Assembly on Sept. 22.

The law seeks to regulate and digitally administer commercial transportation, traffic, motor parks, terminals, loading points and other related transport infrastructure in the state.

A statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Malam Olawale Rasheed, on Monday in Osogbo, said Adeleke signed the bill at the Government House.

The governor commended the Assembly for its proactiveness and dynamism, describing the new law as a major step towards modernising the state’s transport system and improving the experience of commuters and operators.

“I applaud the Speaker and members of the Assembly for always acting in the best interest of the state.

“I have gone through the bill as passed by the Assembly and I am convinced that it is the best solution to the perennial crisis and challenges facing the Osun transportation park system.

“Having signed this bill into law, I assure all stakeholders that implementation will commence in earnest.

“In line with the law, we will ensure that Osun people and other interests are accommodated for efficient service delivery across the state,” he said.

Earlier, the Speaker of the Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, said the Assembly complied with its standing rules in processing and finalising the passage of the bill.

Egbedun assured the governor and the people of the state that the new law provided answers to questions and concerns bordering on the management of transportation parks in Osun.
