Shooting Stars record second consecutive home goalless draw

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan have recorded their second consecutive goalless draw at home in the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The Ibadan-based football team was held to a 0-0 draw by Kano Pillars Football Club in a rescheduled Match day three encounter played at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

The result came just days after the Ibadan-based club played another 0-0 draw against Nasarawa United Football Club in a Match day 7 fixture at the same venue.

Against Kano Pillars, Shooting Stars dominated possession and created several scoring opportunities but failed to convert them.

The visitors, on the other hand, adopted a defensive approach and relied on counter-attacks to keep the hosts at bay.

Efforts by the technical crew to break the deadlock with substitutions in the second half did not yield the desired result, as Kano Pillars’ defense remained resolute.

The goalless draw against Nasarawa United in the Match day 7 game had earlier raised concerns among fans over the team’s lack of cutting edge in front of goal.

With two consecutive home draws, Shooting Stars have now dropped four vital points at home while Kano Pillars successfully secured their first away point in Ibadan in nine years, extending their disciplined unbeaten start to the campaign.

A Shooting Stars fan, Mr Adeolu Goke, said that the hosts controlled the tempo with heavy possession and multiple attacking incursions, but struggled to break down a compact visiting defence.

Mr Kazeem Alabi, said that the hosts must quickly address their finishing weakness before their upcoming games if they want to climb higher up the standings.

Another supporter, Mr John Samuel, called on the technical crew to work on the team’s finishing ahead of their next fixtures.

It was reported that 3SC currently occupy 13th position on the league table with eight points from seven matches.
