Moniepoint restructures engineering, product functions

Moniepoint, a financial technology company, says its restructuring of engineering and product functions will make some existing roles redundant while creating new positions.

The ‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌company disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Lagos, explaining that the restructuring followed a strategic review of its operations to support its next stage of growth.

It said the new structure would comprise platform groups made up of small, focused product-area teams, each responsible for its products from development to operation.

According to the company, the model will give teams greater autonomy and clearer accountability, while accelerating product development, improving operational reliability and supporting expansion into new markets.

The restructuring would also introduce platform architects to design and oversee the systems underpinning the platform groups.

Moniepoint said the new roles would form part of its broader product operating model and architectural governance framework.

The company noted that this guides the development of solutions, platform capabilities and technical foundations.

It explained that employees whose roles became redundant would, where possible, be considered for available positions elsewhere in the business.

A redundancy consultation process would begin only where suitable alternative positions could not be identified, it added.

The company said engineering and product remained central to its operations, expressing confidence that the new structure would strengthen its services for customers, employees and partners.
