NYSC confirms abduction of a corps member in Borno

Corps members of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II in Yobe have been charged to remain security-conscious and conduct themselves as good ambassadors of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The charge was given on Wednesday during the closing ceremony of the three-week orientation course at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Dazigau, Nangere Local Government Area, Yobe.

Delivering the address of the NYSC Director-General, Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, the State Coordinator, Mr Okochi Okpara, said there would be “no immunity for anyone who engages in criminal activities.”

He also urged corps members to remain politically neutral and avoid using social media or other platforms to advance political interests during their service year.

The Director-General further cautioned corps members against unauthorised journeys, advising them to obtain approval before travelling and avoid night journeys in the interest of safety.

Nafiu called on corps employers to warmly receive corps members posted to their establishments and provide an enabling environment for effective service and meaningful contributions to host communities.

He expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and all stakeholders for their “unwavering support” to the NYSC scheme and the successful conduct of the orientation course.
