Nigerian content creator and streamer, Carter Efe, says Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, helped him make the biggest amount of money of his life through a livestream.

Carter made the disclosure in a recent episode of the Cocktails & Takeaways podcast, while speaking about his streaming career, his relationship with Davido and the growth of digital content creation in Nigeria.

He said Davido’s participation in one of his livestreams attracted a large audience and significantly increased his earnings.

”Davido made me the biggest money of my life on a stream in one night. I became a big boy overnight,” he said.

Carter’s comments highlight the growing financial opportunities available to Nigerian content creators through livestreaming, digital platforms and collaborations with established entertainment personalities.

In December 2025, Davido joined Carter during a Twitch livestream which reportedly attracted more than 80,000 concurrent viewers.

The appearance also reportedly contributed to a significant increase in Carter’s followers and subscribers on the platform.

Carter Efe, whose real name is Oderhohwo Efe, gained prominence through comedy and music before expanding into livestreaming and online entertainment.

The growth of Nigeria’s digital creator economy has provided young Nigerians with alternative avenues for income, entrepreneurship and employment, while also creating opportunities to showcase Nigerian talent and culture to global audiences.

The development has further strengthened the role of social media and digital platforms in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, enabling creators to monetise their audiences and collaborate with established artists and brands.
